Where's Our Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare Review?

by Jeff Marchiafava on Feb 25, 2014 at 07:03 AM

PopCap's family-friendly shooter is out in the wild, but you'll have to wait a little longer for Game Informer's official verdict. We need more time playing with the public before we can complete our review.

Garden Warfare is a multiplayer-only game, which means much of the enjoyment it offers players hinges on how EA's multiplayer servers perform. While we got our bearings in some pre-launch matches with other media outlets and EA representatives, we felt waiting to experience the game with real players (and full post-launch traffic) is important for assessing the game.

Our early impressions of Garden Warfare have been mixed; the Plants Vs. Zombies aesthetic and characters are as charming as ever, but some of EA's design decisions and the limited amount of modes and maps are disappointing. If you're on the fence about purchasing the game, we advise you to wait and read our full review when it's available later this week.
