Reader Discussion: Do You Enjoy A Challenge?

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze released yesterday, and as we note in our review, it’s tough. Do you like a challenge? Or does difficulty turn you away?

Games like Dark Souls, and recent successes like DayZ show that there is definitely a market for challenging games. Are you in that market?

I prefer my challenges in platformer form with games like Super Meat Boy, Super Mario 3D World, and Donkey Kong. RPGs and action games akin to Dark Souls, however, I tend to get frustrated with and stick to the average difficulty.

What about you? Do you seek out hard games?
