Diablo III To Implement New Clans And Communities

by Bryan Vore on Feb 19, 2014 at 11:32 AM

Today Blizzard posted the first details on new social features coming to Diablo III on PC.

Clans will allow up to 120 players to join. Blizzard says this number was chosen because clans "are intended to be smaller and invitation only." Players can only join one clan at a time.

Communities, on the other hand, have unlimited members and don't require an invite. Players can also join as many as they'd like. Blizzard says that communities can be formed for nearly any reason including "playing the same class, frequenting the same fan sites, or living in the same geographical area."

Both of these features are currently undergoing testing on the Reaper of Souls Closed Beta and the Patch 2.0.1 public test realm. For more info head to Battle.net.

Our Take:
This sounds like good news to us. You can't go wrong when it comes to getting your community to connect more and do it all within game. The only bummer is that we don't know when or if these features will ever come to the console editions.
