Take-Two More Than Quadruples Net Revenue, Increases Outlook

by Mike Futter on Feb 03, 2014 at 09:35 AM

Take-Two is still riding high on the Grand Theft Auto V wave. The company is reporting a strong third quarter 2014, with net revenue of $1.86 billion compared to $415.8 million in third quarter last year.

Take-Two notes that, in addition to GTA V, WWE, and NBA titles, digital revenues for GTA Online helped drive performance. On a non-GAAP basis, Take-Two is reporting an increase in digital revenue of 42 percent over last year, accounting for $132.8 million. Catalog sales represented $113 million.

Take-Two has also revealed some additional information about its upcoming catalogue. Civilization V and XCOM are getting complete editions in February and March respectively. NBA 2K15 and WWE 2K15 are also expected, but there are no platform listings available yet. Additionally, there is no release date yet for BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea Part 2.

Our Take
The interesting note about NBA 2K15 and WWE 2K15 is that this could simply be that it’s too early for Take-Two to talk about platforms or a hint at a faster than expected phasing out of last-generation consoles. As a reminder, this list only represents confirmed titles and not Grand Theft Auto V DLC (which has not been specifically announced) or the game on other platforms (which is heavily speculated).
