The Legend Of Zelda: Four Swords On 3DS Free For Limited Time

by Mike Futter on Jan 30, 2014 at 09:31 AM

Nintendo has announced today that it’s giving every 3DS owner a free copy of The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition. This is an update to the multiplayer mode that was available with the Game Boy Advance version of A Link to the Past.

Now through Sunday, February 2, the title can be downloaded to 2DS and 3DS systems at no charge. Four Swords is a multiplayer title (though there is a solo option) in which players work together to save Zelda from the wind mage Vaati.

There is a competitive aspect to the game, as players are racing to collect rupees while solving puzzles together. You can play solo, but the better option is to get some friends together in the same room.

Time’s limited, so be sure to get your copy before time is up. If it’s A Link to the Past you’re looking for, that title is now on the Wii U eShop here in North America.

Our Take
There are now three Nintendo 3DS units in my house. I’ve never had the opportunity to play Four Swords, and I’m eager to finally get a chance (and for free no less).
