Rumor: Neill Blomkamp Directing Live-Action Halo Pilot

The Halo movie may still be dead in the water, but 343 Industries and Microsoft are hard at work producing a series of live-action shows based on the shooter. If rumors are true, viewers who tune into the Stephen Spielberg-produced Xbox One series will get a little taste of what might have been.

According to Latino Review, District 9 director Neill Blomkamp is directing the pilot episode of the Halo series. If you recall, Blomkamp directed several live-action promotional shorts for Halo, and was attached to the film back when it was still a firm possibility.

Microsoft is betting big on its original programming, and having a big name like Blomkamp in its corner could go a long way toward generating some much-needed credibility.
