Russian Artist’s Fantasy Dolls Are One Step Away From Lifelike Pokémon

Imagine for a second that a future Pokémon title was designed with a photorealistic aesthetic. What might that look like? Would we recognize the creatures we’ve been playing with since the original Gameboy was awkwardly stuffed into our pockets?

A Russian artist that goes by the name “Santani” makes these dolls from fimo, cernit, sculpey, sonet, and fabric fur. She is currently working on filling pre-orders, but once those are complete, she will be opening up an Etsy or eBay storefront.

The image at the top of the page reminded us of a Pikachu. The image below was too striking not to include. While it doesn’t look exactly like an Octillery, with the addition of a protruding snout, it could fit the bill.

You can see more of Santani’s work on her DeviantArt page. Additional images can be found on The Meta Picture.
