Gabe Newell Promises Reddit AMA If Children's Hospital Donations Reach $500,000

by Matt Helgeson on Jan 16, 2014 at 02:54 PM

Valve's top man says he's willing to do an "Ask Me Anything" session on Reddit to help raise money for the Seattle Children's Hospital.

In a post on Reddit, Newell said that if donations to The Heart of Racing charitable foundation (which benefits the Children's Hospital) exceed $500,000, he take part in a Reddit AMA. AMAs have become popular in recent years, and there's always an interest in what Newell has to say, so it's not unlikely that this could work.

Our Take:
I think we all have more than a few questions for Mr. Newell, especially regarding the status of Half-Life 3. Let's hope enough people agree and are willing to put down some cash for the answer. In any case, anything to encourage charity is okay in our book.
