Reader Discussion: What’s The Most Times You’ve Purchased The Same Game?

by Mike Futter on Jan 06, 2014 at 09:54 AM

Today we learned that Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition won’t be coming to PC, and that console users won’t be getting a break on the new version. If you want to play the Xbox One or PlayStation 4 version of that game, you’ll be paying full retail price ($60).

Of course, Square Enix isn’t alone. Many publishers have compiled their classic titles into HD collections, re-released them alone on digital platforms, and bundled them for “Game of the Year” editions.

We’re curious about your buying habits. Do you buy re-released versions of games? If so, what factors contribute to your decision? Is it the convenience of playing the titles via Xbox Live, PSN, or the eShop? Do the visual upgrades make the difference? Do you avoid them altogether?

Let us know in the comments. Don’t worry, we won’t judge if you’ve purchased Super Mario Bros. 3, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, or Minecraft on every platform they’ve ever graced.
