Class Action Lawsuit Firm Investigates EA Over Battlefield 4
The law firm of Holzer Holzer & Fistel has announced that it is currently investigating EA over claims made related to Battlefield 4. The matter focuses on statements made by the publisher’s officers between July 24, 2013, and December 4, 2013.
This isn’t Holzer Holzer & Fistel’s first time investigating a video game company. The firm looked into THQ’s disclosures over the uDraw failure.
The two cases are similar, focusing on sales projections and other statements made to investors that may not have represented the full scope of EA’s knowledge. This lawsuit does not deal directly with the ongoing problems facing Battlefield 4 across platforms. Rather it focuses on the representation of the product in discussions with investors.
Right now, this is simply an investigation. Holzer Holzer & Fistel is seeking a lead plaintiff that purchased common stock and suffered loss.

Our Take
This investigation might not turn into a suit. It may also get usurped by another firm that is able to find a lead plaintiff faster. Holzer Holzer & Fistel also isn’t looking for consumers, and yet another group of attorneys may put together a suit that seeks restitution for gamers because of Battlefield 4’s ongoing problems. We’ll keep an eye on this, but the likelihood of a significant case emerging out of this investigation is slim.
