Keiji Inafune's KAIO: King Of Pirates Coming Next Year

by Kyle Hilliard on Dec 10, 2013 at 02:41 PM

KAIO: King of Pirates was one of the first announced games from Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune following his departure from Capcom, and it should be arriving next year.

A date on the official KAIO: King of Pirates website changed recently to reflect a 2014 release, as noticed by Gematsu. The game was announced in 2011 with a 2012 release date, but that window came and went.

For more on KAIO: King of Pirates, check out our interview with Inafune about the game.

Our Take
After Inafune announced work on Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z and Mighty Number 9, and after not hearing new information about King of Pirates in years, I had assumed the game was cancelled. Or at the very least, put on the furthest back burner. What little we do know about the game makes it sound like an interesting premise., and I am happy to hear that work is still, presumably, being done on the game.
