by Kyle Hilliard on Dec 04, 2013 at 04:28 AM

For the holiday season Sony is giving away 10 free mobile games two at a time for five weeks. This week's free games are now up for grab.

Last week Sony gave away Passing Time and Rymdkapsel. This week, Gun Commando and Mononoke Slashdown are free to download.

Gun Commando is an old-school first-person shooter with clear inspiration from games like Doom and Wolfenstein. Mononoke Slashdown is a 2D, side-scrolling hack and slash games.

You can get these games for your PlayStation certified smartphones, tablets, or the Vita. You will find them in the dedicated mobile games section of the PlayStation Store.

Our Take
It's nice to see these smaller games get some highlighting from Sony. The mobile games section is one that many gloss over, and encouraging players to explore it to grab free stuff will likely get people to take a look at what else is available. Giving things away for free is a tactic Sony has learned to embrace.
