Take A Tour Of The Louvre With Your 3DS

by Isaac Perry on Nov 27, 2013 at 08:26 AM

For over a year, people visiting the Louvre could rent the 3DS systems as audio guides. Now, 3DS owners can take a virtual tour of the museum from their home with the Nintendo 3DS Guide: Louvre.

The virtual guide offers an interactive map, hundreds of artwork and 3D photos of the museum, and almost 30 hours of audio commentary.

Expect the guide to show up on the Nintendo eShop December 2 for $19.99. If you want a physical copy, you’ll have to make the trek to the Louvre gift shop.

Watch the video below to see Nintendo’s Shiegru Miyamoto and Satoru Iwata explore the famed museum and explain how the audio guide will work at home with the 3DS.

Our Take
I give kudos to Nintendo for thinking outside the box. I’m intrigued. I’ve never been to the museum and I imagine it will be a long time until I have the chance. I’ll keep an eye on this one. Come holiday shopping, however, I’d much rather pick up A Link Between Worlds.
