Microsoft Gives Unity To ID@Xbox Devs
Microsoft has been working hard to garner indie game support for the upcoming Xbox One, and today the company has announced that it is offering the Unity middleware for free to developers in the ID@Xbox self-publishing program for Xbox One.
Microsoft says that the Unity add-on will be available at an unspecified time in 2014, and developers in the program will also get Unity Pro seat licenses.
The add-on supports all the features of Xbox One, as well as allowing devs to release their titles on the Windows and Windows Phone platforms.

Our Take:
Unity is widespread, easy-to-use middleware, and offering it for free to the ID@Xbox devs will no doubt grease the rails for those who want to use it.
