Another Look At The Expensive Titanfall Collector’s Edition Statue

by Mike Futter on Nov 05, 2013 at 10:30 AM

When Titanfall’s release date was announced, there was a mixture of emotions. Most were happy to learn that the game will be in-hand earlier than expected, but there was also confusion about the $250 collector’s edition.

The ultra-premium bundle comes with an art book, a poster, and an 18-inch-tall Titan diorama. Now we’re getting a new look at that LED-lit statue. You can see the whole thing here.

The image comes by way of producer Drew McCoy’s Twitter account. The diorama prototype is in Respawn’s studio right now (complete with dramatic lighting and smoke). McCoy promises that there are more shots coming, but this will tide us over for now.

Titanfall is out on Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC on March 11. We recently found out that those platforms are where it ends for the game, as Microsoft has locked up exclusivity at least for this first entry in what’s sure to be an ongoing franchise. You can read our recent hands-on preview from Gamescom 2013 here.

Our Take
The Titan diorama is pretty spectacular, and whether or not it’s worth the $250 price tag is something that you’ll need to decide for yourself. If you’ve got the budget and the shelf space and want the bragging rights, go for it. Just act quickly, as they are very limited and the cost is only going to balloon post-launch.
