In a tweet responding to queries online, Shuhei Yoshida, PlayStation president of worldwide studios, confirmed that the DualShock 4 will have some compatability with PCs.

Yoshida said that the DualShock 4 will offer "basic functionality" with PCs, and that the buttons and control sticks will work. It sounds like the controller's more advanced functionality like the touch pad, will only be compatible with the PlayStation 4.

Our Take
This is very good news. The Xbox 360 controller has proven to be very popular with PC players over the years, with many players purchasing it specifically to play PC games. By allowing this functionality for the DucalShock 4, I'm sure Sony is hoping for the same outcome.
