Armature Studio, which is made of former Retro Studios employees, has confirmed that its next game won't be an Arkham title.

Armature is a young developer with has only one released title under its belt with the Vita version of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. Batman Arkham Origins: Blackgate is coming to Vita and 3DS on October 25. The studio has an excellent pedigree, however, with former employees of Retro Studios, the developer behind the Metroid Prime series.

In a tweet yesterday Armature simple said, "Guess what? We have a non-Arkham game coming out this Christmas! Have a great weekend!" It followed up on Twitter with a fan to confirm that it won't be a phone game.

An error occurred while retrieving the Tweet. It might have been deleted.

Our Take
So far, Armature Studio has only worked with existing franchises. It would be nice if this mystery project were some kind of new IP from the studio. It would also be nice if Nintendo hired the studio to create a new Metroid title, considering its history, but that seems unlikely. Blackgate's director, Mark Pacini, seemed to imply that he has gotten his fill of working on Metroid in a previous interview.
