Plants Vs. Zombies Gets A Risk Board Game Edition

by Kimberley Wallace on Sep 30, 2013 at 09:07 AM

You know a video game has made it when it gets its own edition of the popular game, Risk.

Today, it was announced that Plants vs. Zombies would make its tabletop debut with a Risk collector's edition. Instead of armies expect peashooters and threepeaters to keep brains safe from the zombies.

The board game is double-sided with Brainsborough on one side, and the series' well-known backyard on the other. It also features three head-to-head modes: Tower defense, mission objective, and total domination. Besides the standard classic Risk domination for the entire board, three different victory conditions can also put you in the winner's circle.

This edition is now available online and soon will come to stores.

Our Take

Seeing classic games feature some of our favorite video games is always fun. Risk seems to be very video game friendly; we've seen Halo and Mass Effect editions just to name a few. If you're a fan who needs everything Plants vs. Zombies, this is probably your calling card. Others, though, may find that the different modes and cute character pieces aren't enough to sway them to buy Risk again.
