Might & Magic: Clash Of Heroes Is The Next Xbox Live Games With Gold Title

September is winding to a close, and that means it's almost time for more free games (if you're an Xbox Live Gold subscriber). Beginning on October 1, you'll be able to download Capybara's clever puzzle action title, Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes.

The title is set in Ubisoft's Might & Magic universe and features a number of young heroes working together to save the world. The mechanics include a blend of army-building and match-3 that come together to make a largely engaging experience.

Our Take
I enjoyed Clash of Heroes when I originally played it on the DS and was excited to see it ported to other platforms. It doesn't do everything right, but it does offer a more engaging take on match-3 gameplay than most other applications of the tired mechanic.

The title smartly uses some of the hallmarks of the Might & Magic series, including the different factions and powerful units to recruit. Again though, this is another older title hitting Games with Gold. Here's hoping Microsoft ups its game, as PlayStation Plus' Instant Game Collection offering still triumphs.
