Updated Halo For Xbox One CGI Trailer Shows Halo 5 Logo

by Kyle Hilliard on Sep 01, 2013 at 12:52 PM

You've seen this trailer before. It was the one shown during E3 this year. This updated version of the trailer, however, shows a Halo 5 logo at the end instead of a plain Halo logo.

The updated trailer appears on Axis Animation's official Vimeo page. Axis does a lot of animation for Microsoft and its assorted studios, including the Spartan Ops videos, and the recent Fable Legends trailer.

Our Take
It's no surprise that the next Halo will likely be called Halo 5, but it is confusing that it wasn't called Halo 5 from the beginning. Was there some tactic Microsoft was trying to employ during E3? Like, getting people excited about the franchise as opposed to a sequel? Or is this just more confusing messaging coming from Microsoft? Or is the addition of a 5 in this version of the trailer simply a mistake?
