Nintendo has announced the release date of The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD with almost no fanfare. The reveal didn't warrant its own press release, and instead was hidden in news about a new The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses concert.

You'll be able to return to the high seas with the King of Red Lions on October 4, 2013 (Update: A digital version will be available two weeks earlier on September 20, 2013). The September 12, 2013, Symphony of the Goddesses concert in Seattle, Washington will have demo kiosks for both Wind Waker HD on Wii U and A Link Between Worlds on 3DS.

Wind Waker HD will be available for $49.99. A bundle with a Ganondorf figure will be available at GameStop for $54.99. (Disclosure: GameStop is Game Informer's parent company.)

Our Take
Nintendo's communication strategy once again confounds us. The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD is one of the Wii U's tentpole titles for this fall. Hiding the release date in a press release about another concert in a long-running series means that many people are going to gloss over it.

This is the kind of news that Nintendo should be trumpeting, not burying.
