Broken Sword: The Serpent's Curse Coming To Vita

by Kimberley Wallace on Aug 23, 2013 at 12:35 PM

Kickstarted about a year ago, Revolution Software's Broken Sword: The Serpent's Curse was slated to hit Windows, Mac, Linux, and Android platforms, all of which are fairly common homes for point-and-click adventure games. This fifth game in the series, however, is headed to a platform that's already gotten its fair share of Gamescom love: the PlayStation Vita.

The Serpent's Curse follows established series protagonists George Stobbart and Nico Collard as they're stuck in the burglary of a painting.  Despite looking worthless, this painting is said to have been cursed by the Devil, and Nico and George are pulled into a conspiracy stretching back to World War II.

Revolution Software Co-founder Charles Cecil said on the PlayStation Blog, "The PS Vita is an ideal device for an adventure game — the combination of the front and rear touch screen, as well as the analog stick and shoulder buttons, gives us so much scope to create a really great user interface."

Our Take:

The PlayStation Vita getting more games, especially those targeted toward the hardcore, is never a bad thing.  The Broken Sword adventure games have been a classic staple ad I'm happy to see another new entry rather than an upgraded port.
