Ubisoft And Blue Byte Celebrate 15 Years Of Anno

by Matt Akers on Aug 13, 2013 at 08:33 AM

Ubisoft and Blue Byte are celebrating the 15th anniversary of Anno, the long-running RTS series for PC. The first Anno title, Anno 1602, was released in Europe in 1998, and in North America in 2000 as 1602 A.D. The latest entry to the series is Anno Online, a free-to-play title that launched its North American closed beta in April.

To mark the 15-year milestone, developers are offering Anno Online players an in-game event called Annoversary, which includes new characters and quests via a new group of settlers who will be traveling through the player’s island. Additionally, players will have access to a new questline themed around a treasure-filled island discovered by the king’s cartographer.

Anno Online is now in open beta in North America. Check out a cinematic trailer for the game here.
