Special Animal Crossing Mii Plaza Available Now On Wii U

by Kyle Hilliard on Aug 07, 2013 at 04:46 AM

During today's Nintendo Direct, Nintendo president Saturo Iwata and Animal Crossing resident Isabelle announced a special Animal Crossing: New Leaf themed Mii Plaza for the Wii U.

You can jump into the new plaza immediately, and Nintendo has designed it to be a place where Animal Crossing: New Leaf fans can meet, hang out, and talk about Animal Crossing.

You can chat about Animal Crossing on the MiiVerse, pull up QR codes on the Wii U GamePad and scan them with your 3DS, and share your New Leaf screen grabs and organize them into galleries.

This special Mii Plaza is not a permanent fixture, and will close down at the end of 2014.

Our Take
It's exciting to see this crossover between the Wii U and the 3DS. I especially like the idea of being able to share and scan QR codes using the GamePad. I hope that Nintendo will consider doing more of these themed Plazas in the future. I would love to see one for the upcoming 3DS Zelda game.
