Warner Bros. Helping With The Witcher Again

by Joe Juba on Jul 25, 2013 at 08:34 AM

Much like their arrangement for The Witcher 2, CD Projekt RED and Warner Bros. announced that they are teaming up for the release and distribution of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

The collaboration is for North America, and has Warner Bros. handling promotional and distribution duties for the next-gen, open-world RPG. In a press release, CD Projekt president Adam Kiciński says, "Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is an extremely valuable partner for us because of their experience and established position on the American market, which is crucial to CD Projekt’s further rapid development."

The Witcher 3 currently only has a vague "2014" release date, and is coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Our Take:
This is great news for CD Projekt and fans of The Witcher. Since the developer is based in Poland, it makes sense to team up with a partner that has more reach and experience promoting games in North America. Furthermore, this partnership worked out well last time for The Witcher 2, which had cool packaging and even came with a mini strategy guide. All we need now is more concrete release date info.
