See Plans

This fall will see a number of new titles from Activision, with Call of Duty leading the way into the holiday season. The remaining titles are a bit more casual, with the exception of Skylanders: Swap Force (which has captured the hearts and wallets of many adult collectors).

Here's the complete list:

  • Call of Duty: Ghosts (November 5)
  • Skylanders SWAP Force (October 13 North America, October 16 Australia, October 18 Europe)
  • Angry Birds Trilogy (August 13)
  • Angry Birds Star Wars (October 29)
  • Spongebob SquarePants: Plankton’s Robotic Revenge (date TBA)
  • Wipeout Create & Crash (date TBA)

This covers most of Activision's fall lineup. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, a downloadable title, is coming to Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. Diablo III hasn't been announced for Wii U, but news would probably come from Blizzard directly if that were to change.

Our Take
This is good news for Wii U owners. It's no surprise that Skylanders is arriving on the platform, but Call of Duty's appearance was unknown for some time. Black Ops II wasn't best on Wii U, but it was absolutely competent and a good way to enjoy the series if no other options are available. I'm happy for those who prefer that platform that they'll be able to enjoy it.
