Firefly Is Getting An Online Game, But It Might Be Serenity Valley All Over Again

by Mike Futter on Jul 18, 2013 at 02:46 AM

Firefly Online is real thing that was just announced at San Diego Comic-Con, but we need to temper your expectations. This isn't the exciting fan-made game we told you about earlier this year. The title is coming first to iOS and Android, and the developers behind it are relatively unknown.

Sparkplug Games has produced a number of hidden object titles, a licensed Dairy Queen title, and a zombie game with a font that is oddly reminiscent of Popcap's gardening-meets-undead throwdown. Firefly Online is purported to be a "multi-user, social online roleplaying game."

You can check out the trailer below, and if you want to head out into the black, you can sign up on the website (though the "About" page doesn't seem to be live yet). The title is expected in 2014.
