July PlayStation Plus Free Titles Announced, Battlefield 3 Leads The Way
PlayStation 3 owners with a PlayStation Plus subscription have another month of free games starting tomorrow. Leading the way is Battlefield 3 ("levelution" not included).
In addition to DICE's offering, this month will also see the following titles (in particular order):
- Jet Set Radio (PS3)
- Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee HD (PS3)
- Dokuro (Vita)
- Metal Slug XX (PSP and Vita)
Titles are rotating off the service this month, too. Get these before they aren't free any longer:
- Deus Ex: Human Revolution - July 2
- Joe Danger 2: The Movie - July 9
- The Cave - July 16
- Germinator - July 23
- Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward - July 30
If you're an Xbox Live Gold member, be sure to also download Defense Grid now through July 15.

Our Take
I was a PlayStation Plus skeptic for a long time, but as Sony added value to the service, it became impossible not to pony up the $50 annual fee. The quantity and quality of the Instant Collection titles continue to grow. Now, it's conceivable that someone looking to buy a current-gen console for the first time could pick up a PlayStation 3 with Plus and be completely satisfied without ever purchasing a game.
