Conker Creator Bringing The Unlikely Legend Of Rusty Pup To Wii U

by Mike Futter on Jun 21, 2013 at 10:26 AM

At the end of May, we reported that Conker's Bad Fur Day creator Christopher Seaver is working on a new project for the Wii U. Seavor's current studio, Gory Detail, was in need of development kits, and now we know why.

In an interview with Nintendo Life, Seavor has revealed the title of his new game. The Unlikely Legend of Rusty Pup is in development for the Wii U eShop. Rusty Pup follows Gory Detail's iOS title, Parashoot Stan.

Seavor, and fellow Rare alumnus Shawn Pile, are creating a black comedy infused 2D platformer. The title isn't gory (despite the studio's name), and the story will be as important as the gameplay.

The studio is keeping quiet on many of the specifics right now so as not to ruin the surprises in store. We do know that there are hints of Lemmings and elements of virtual pet games infused into the experience. Moreover, player interactions will influence the world around the one-wheeled canine protagonist.

We'll have to wait about 18 months to play The Unlikely Legend of Rusty Pup and uncover the secrets for ourselves. For now, read the rest of the interview at Nintendo Life.
