The Creator Of Mega Man Released A Game About Killing Bugs With Tanks

by Brian Albert on Jun 20, 2013 at 10:15 AM

Previously only available in Japan, Bugs vs. Tanks! for the 3DS has now made its way to North America.

Created by Keiji Inafune, designer of games like Mega Man and Onimusha, Bugs vs. Tanks! is an action shooter that follows a shrunken tank battalion during World War II. Though the video below reminds us of the cult classic Earth Defense Force 2017, Inafune said he "considers it a survival game, not a comedy."

The game features a co-op mode with support for up to four players.

Bugs vs. Tanks! is part of the Guild02 pack along with The Starship Damrey and Attack of the Friday Monsters: A Tokyo Tale. If you've previously purchased Liberation Maiden, Aero Porter, or Crimson Shroud, which were part of the Guild01 initiative to bring small games from prominent developers to the 3DS, you'll receive an in-game golden tank for your loyalty.

Bugs vs. Tanks! is available now on the Nintendo eShop for $7.99.
