Puppies, Dungeons, And Siberia - This Week’s Mobile Roundup

by Matt Akers on Jun 13, 2013 at 11:42 AM

It’s been a slow week in mobile gaming, but I’ve pieced together a few gems that should soothe your brain overload from E3. Hey look, a baby panda…

Pet Rescue Saga
Developer: King
Platforms: Android
Price: Free

In May, Candy Crush Saga was the most popular video game in the world. King, the developers of that game, have teamed up to bring you even more addictive puzzle action with Pet Rescue Saga, now out on Android. Brace yourselves: piglets and kittens are involved.

Gangstar Vegas
Developer: Gameloft
Platforms: iOS
Price: $6.99

At 1.4 GB, Gangstar Vegas is a hefty mobile game. Its size makes sense, though, when you take a look at its stellar graphics and quality open-world gameplay. GTA fans should take delight in this iOS game. Look for it for Android soon.

Syberia – Part 1 HD
Developer: Microids
Platforms: iOS
Price: Free trial; $4.99

Its reviews in the App Store are mixed so far, but Syberia has been fully ported to iOS with its original mystery and intrigue. Syberia is an adventure game, not unlike Myst, set in a mechanical alternate reality. Try it for free now.

Deep Dungeons of Doom
Developer: Bossa Studios
Platforms: iOS
Price: Free

Deep Dungeons of Doom is an 16-bit dungeon crawler full of both witchcraft and wizardry. It also comes with quite the learning curve. I’m always slightly skeptical of free games, but it can’t hurt to give it a try.
