Michael Bay Bringing Ghost Recon To The Big Screen

by Adam Biessener on Jun 11, 2013 at 09:59 AM

Ubisoft is working with the Transformers director and Warner Bros. Pictures to produce a big-budget Hollywood film based on the tactical shooter franchise.

The company has been public about its quest to produce films based on its big franchises. Earlier this year, the news broke that Ubisoft was putting together a Hollywood pitch for Ghost Recon, and it produced a 25-minute short (below).

No further details are forthcoming at this time, other than the typical statements of excitement from Ubisoft. “Having one of Hollywood’s boldest feature film directors attached to bringing Ghost Recon to the big screen is a dream come true for us,” said Ubisoft Motion Pictures CEO Jean-Julien Baronnet via press release. “And with Warner Bros. unmatched track record of successfully producing, marketing and distributing big movies from the industry’s top talents, we think this project has huge potential.”

Michael Bay, of course, is famous for his blockbuster action films from Bad Boys to Armageddon and the three recent Transformers movies. He’ll lend a certain bombast to Ghost Recon on the silver screen if nothing else.
