The Need For Speed Movie Is Being Filmed Next Week In Georgia

by Mike Futter on Jun 01, 2013 at 10:44 AM

If you live in the Columbus, Georgia area and take the 13th Street Bridge on your commute, you're going to want to find an alternate route next week. A film crew will be in town shooting the new Need for Speed film from Tuesday through Saturday.

On the bright side, you might get a chance to glimpse a gorgeous McLaren P1, which is featured prominently in the movie. The Dreamworks film is directed by Scott Waugh, who has handled the stunts for Sleeper Cell, xXx, Torque, and many others. The movie features Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), Michael Keaton (Batman, Beetlejuice),and Dominic Cooper (Captain America, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter).

The scene being filmed over the Chattahoochee River includes a crash, which is why the bridge will be closed for most of the week. Additional filming has already taken place in other cities in Georgia, including Rome and Macon. Need for Speed is anticipated in theaters on February 7, 2014.

Thanks for the tip, Jeremy.
