Road Redemption Shows Off Planned Oculus Rift Support

by Matt Helgeson on May 02, 2013 at 02:30 PM

A new video for the spiritual successor to Road Rash shows off the game's proposed support for the Oculus Rift VR headset, which is one of the game's Kickstarter stretch goals.

Dark Seas Games' Kickstarter for Road Redemption runs through May 12. So far, it's going well, with $99,456 of the goal of $160,000 being pledge so far. However, the team has some important stretch goals for the project if it can raise more than the initial $160,000.

The initial pitch is to make the game, a motorcycle combat title inspired by the classic Road Rash, for PC and Wii U. However, if the Kickstarter hits $178,000, Dark Seas will port the game to Xbox 360. At $198,000, it will make the game compatible with the much-ballyhooed Oculus Rift 3D headset. The video below shows what they have planned for Oculus Rift, and it looks intriguing (if perhaps too much for those of us with weaker stomachs).

If you want to support Road Redemption you can head over to the game's official Kickstarter page.
