Namco Bandai has taken its popular fighting franchise in a new direction, releasing a virtual card game based on the series.

The free-to-play game offers cross-platform play, allowing users to challenge each other online no matter what platform they play on. Decks are fully customizable, and cards can be fused together to create new ones.

To win you must chain together Focus, Strike, and Block cards to fight opponents in 3D battles similar to ones found in any Tekken game. Though unclear if there is a story mode, players can train solo, win matches to improve their global ranking, and participate in themed contests. There will be 191 interactive physical cards released in early summer. Each card can be scanned to unlock new characters and power-ups. Much like Nintendo’s AR cards for the Nintendo 3DS, player cards can be scanned to give them augmented reality effects.

Tekken Card Tournament is available for PC, iOS, and Android. Watch the video below to see how much fun you can have with the augmented reality effects.
