This week during a PAX East panel, 343 Industries announced a free new Forge map for Halo 4 that will give players plenty of open space to build on.

Forge maps allow players to craft their own levels by using a variety of prefabricated structures as building blocks. The new map includes three giant, flat islands that 343 is calling the “Great Anvils.” The islands should give players plenty of space to create custom levels on; in the above picture, you can just barely make out a tiny Spartan on the largest island, giving you an idea of the immense scale players will be working with.

The new Forge map is slated to come out on April 11, just three days after the upcoming Castle Map Pack, which adds three new multiplayer maps and a six-on-six playlist.
