Thomas Was Alone Releasing On PlayStation 3 And Vita

by Louis Garcia on Feb 27, 2013 at 10:36 AM

Thomas Was Alone won’t be so alone when it releases for both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita with Cross-Buy (meaning if you purchase the title for PlayStation 3, you will also have access to the Vita version) in spring.

"Which is, if we’re honest, ridiculous,” Developer Mike Bithell says on the PlayStation Blog. “I made a game about rectangles and friendship in my free time. I was lucky enough to find some incredible collaborators who made my script sound good, and my environments sound far more awesome than their humble rectangular graphics. I was shocked when a community formed and people actually played it.”

Bithell’s game, previously released on PC and Mac, gives players one simple goal: get to the exit portals. Skills like flotation, jumping, and bouncing all come into play when traversing the minimalist 2D platformer.

Thomas Was Alone will have a new creator’s commentary, and timed exclusive downloadable content starring a square with a jetpack that serves as a prologue for the main game.
