Zynga Closing Three Offices

by Jeff Cork on Feb 25, 2013 at 09:23 AM

Zynga has announced that it's closing three studios and consolidating another as part of a general restructuring. The company says the move is being made to maintain profitability.

The affected locations include its Baltimore office, which is being closed, along with two Texas studios, in McKinney and downtown Austin. The company said in its blog that the overall impact is minimal, and that everyone who wanted to be relocated from the Baltimore office was able to do so. Employees at the Texas studios were relocated to the existing Zynga offices in Dallas and North Austin. Employees based in New York City have also been moved to the company's mobile studio in the city.

The past few months have been a tough on the mobile- and Facebook-gaming giant, with the company recently posting a $209 million loss in 2012 – which was less than what Wall Street analysts projected.
