Angry Birds Trilogy Flapping Over To Wii And Wii U

by Jeff Cork on Feb 15, 2013 at 03:36 AM

The console release of Angry Birds has been a success, according to reps from Activision and the series' creator, Rovio. The game's publisher says Angry Birds Trilogy has sold more than one million units worldwide, and that the game will be coming to the Wii and Wii U sometime in 2013.

"It was certainly satisfying to see Angry Birds gameplay adapt so well to other platforms in 2012,” said Petri Järvilehto, executive vice president of games at Rovio. “The features specific to the Wii U are very intriguing to us, so we’re excited to release this version to fans.”

One million units shouldn't be dismissed, even if the mobile game was downloaded more than 8 million times on Christmas day alone. It seems as though the PS3, 3DS, and Xbox 360's increased price points couldn't keep fans away.
