Obsidian Wants To Make Another Star Wars RPG

by Kyle Hilliard on Feb 09, 2013 at 04:36 AM

Obsidian, the developer behind Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II, have a pitch for a new Star Wars RPG that it is very excited about.

News of Obsidian's new hope for Star Wars comes from an interview with rockpapershotgun.com. The team had a pitch ready for LucasArts before the the company started changing hands. Obsidian's CEO Feargus Urquhart said, “We pitched a between-Episode III and Episode IV game [to LucasArts]. Because we think that timeframe is super interesting. It’s the fall of the Republic, the extermination of the Jedi, it’s Obi-Wan going off and making sure Luke is OK. You have the Sith, but you have the extermination of all Force users except for very, very few. So it was an interesting time to set a game, and you know, Chris Avellone came up with a really cool story.”

Urquhart says its one of the best pitches the company has ever conceived. Urquhart also seems to believe that LucasArts new deal with Disney won't hinder their resolve. “It changes things a lot, but you know, we’re gonna push on it," Urquhart said. LucasArts is already interested in the project, but the pitch hasn't been shown to Disney yet.
