Masaru Kato, Sony’s executive vice president and chief financial officer, has a confession: the PlayStation Vita is not being promoted well.

"Now one thing clear for us that in terms of profitability, we have to do a better job in promoting the PlayStation Vita mobile product,” Kato said in a conference call with overseas investors.

As reported yesterday, Sony cut its Vita and PlayStation Portable sales projection down from 10 million units to seven million.

Kato outlines many issues with the Vita, citing the need for more third-party software support, marketing, and pricing of the handheld as key areas to improve in order to drive sales.

If you haven’t purchased a Vita, what would sway you to?
