Pokémon X And Y Coming To 3DS Worldwide In October
Nintendo has announced the latest entries in the Pokémon series during a special worldwide Nintendo Direct broadcast. In it, company president Satoru Iwata revealed Pokémon X and Y for the 3DS.
The biggest changes appear to be with the game's transition to a fully 3D world. A trailer was shown during the announcement, in which you can see the camera dramatically panning and zooming to highlight the action. Battles also take on a more visually dynamic look.
The other substantial change is that the game will be available in October worldwide. As Iwata said in his presentation, Pokémon games have traditionally been released in Japan first, with localized versions trickling out a year and a half or so later. The new simultaneous launch could prove to be quite exciting for U.S. fans in particular, who will no longer be able to rely on translated walkthroughs and guides to navigate through the game's world.
We'll have more information on the game throughout the day and the months leading up to its release. In the meantime, take a look at the trailer.
