Far Cry 3's FarCraft Mod Is Out Now
If you're clamoring for the chance to take a Far Cry 3 vacation, there's a way to do it before the game's December 4 launch. A new Minecraft mod replicates areas and structures from Ubisoft's upcoming open-world game. Better yet, it contains more than 50 Easter eggs for island explorers to discover.
The mod was announced a little over a week ago, but now you can download it here. It includes all-new assets, including tools, blocks, and enemies. I got to check out Far Cry 3 recently over the course of two days, and I recognize a few areas in the mod from my play sessions. The FarCraft download is free, and it could very well give you the leg up you need when you're first starting out on Far Cry 3's Rook Island. If you can avoid being as unprepared as Jason Brody, take that opportunity.
It's been fun to see how developers are incorporating Mojang's game into their own titles, whether through a mod like this or something like Borderlands 2's hidden Minecraft area. Here's hoping that continues. Perhaps the next inevitable entry in the Resident Evil series could benefit from this kind of blocky downgrade.
