The Wii Bundles Keep Coming

by Jeff Cork on Oct 24, 2012 at 02:50 AM

Nintendo has announced two new hardware/software configurations for the aging console, a little more than a week after revealing another bundle. These two new packages each includes third-party game, and in one case, a blue console.

One of the packages includes the system and a copy of the latest entry in Ubisoft's insanely popular Just Dance franchise. It's priced at about $130, just like the Wii Sports bundle that was announced earlier in the month. The other bundle includes Skylanders Giants, the game's Portal of Power, and three Skylanders figurines. The system is blue (sound familiar?), and it includes an exclusive blue version of Tree Rex. It'll set you back about $150.

Seriously, the Wii U is coming out in less than a month. Does Nintendo think retailers want to blow valuable holiday shelf space on three configurations of what's essentially a dead console? At this point, are there any people left who are interested in the Wii who don't already have one? Pumping out one last bundle before what will probably be the system's last holiday season makes a bit of sense. Releasing three of them? Not so much. Agree? Disagree? Let us know in the comments.
