If you didn't feel like you died enough in Dark Souls last year, From Software finally released the Artorias of the Abyss downloadable content pack for PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. This expansion, which is included in the previously released Dark Souls: Prepare to Die edition on PC, offers new zones, bosses, enemies, weapons, armor, and a PvP mode.

This DLC is hitting later than I would have hoped – over a year after the release of the core game. I'm always a little fearful of returning to games after a long hiatus like this. Often I find myself looking like a fish out of water, struggling to figure out the controls again. With a game like Dark Souls, dying repeatedly is expected, but I wonder how long it will take me to get back into the swing of things.

I really shouldn't be complaining, though. I have more Dark Souls to play, and it's going near the top of my ever-expanding pile of games I have to play before the end of the year. Artorias of the Abyss will set you back $14.99 (or 1,200 Microsoft Points).

Game Informer's Jim Reilly is working on a review of the DLC, and should be posting it in the next few days.
