Report: iPad Mini Debuting This Month

A new report from AllThingsD says Apple plans to unveil its new "iPad Mini" on October 23 during an invitation-only event, sources tell the website.
If true, the unveiling is just days before Microsoft releases its new Surface tablet. As the report notes, Apple typically unveils new products on a Wednesday. This event takes place on a Tuesday. It also takes place days before Apple reports earnings for its latest quarter.
No other details are known at this time. Rumors suggest the tablet has a 7.85-inch screen and is thinner than the current iPad.
