David Crane, the creator of the original Pitfall, has announced a Kickstarter to fund his new game JungleVenture.

You can check out the Kickstarter here. David Crane is looking for $900,000 to fund his new game. David Crane was one of Activision's co-founders, but he hasn't been involved with the company in decades, and as such, no longer has access to the rights to develop a Pitfall title. That being said, 2012 does mark the 30th anniversary of the Pitfall franchise and JungleVenture will be a spiritual successor the alligator and snake jumping classic.

The Kickstarter pitch promises a realistic jungle, an engrossing storyline, and classic sidescrolling action that is, "easy for anyone to pick up but impossible to put down."
