MLG League of Legends Summer Arena This Weekend

by Jack Gardner on Aug 01, 2012 at 08:00 AM

For the first time, MLG is holding an Arena event for League of Legends. This weekend, Friday through Sunday, four great professional teams will compete head-to-head for the coveted $10,000 first place prize as well as a guaranteed spot in the MLG Summer Championship.

The teams competing are:

Team Azubu Blaze – A talented Korean team invited to participate in the Arena. Previously has won the OnGameNet The Champions Spring 2012 and has continued making a name for themselves among the world’s top teams.

Team SoloMid – The Winners of numerous major tournaments such as the MLG Spring Championship, IPL 4, and MLG Providence 2011, they are back and looking to prove once again that they are one of the best LoL teams out there.

Team Black – This relatively new team has surprised many by destroying its European competition in the qualifiers and finally taking out Curse EU to secure a place in the MLG Summer Arena.

Curse Gaming – Placing in the top 8 teams in the MLG Spring Championship, Curse gaming went on to take out CLG Black and Orbit Gaming in the qualifiers to make it into the Arena.

All of the matches from the Arena will be broadcast and can be viewed at: www.majorleaguegaming.com/LIVE

The broadcast schedule will be:

Friday, August 3: 5pm-11pm

Saturday, August 4: 2pm-8pm

Sunday, August 5: 10am-7pm

Also, for those of you that like free stuff, MLG has provided me with several HD Passes to give away. The HD Pass will allow you to watch the broadcasts in 1080p without ads. Tweet at me (@Riverboatjack) and include #MLGLoLArena for a chance to win.
