New Skylanders Figures Coming To Bags Of Chips
Update: Activision confirmed to Game Informer the promotion is real and it begins on July 8.

A leaked Frito Lay Power Point deck appeared online this weekend, showing a Skylanders promotion kicking off on July 9. A purchase of a specially marked Frito Lay 20-count pack will land you one Skylander Sidekick figure. This is a new figure type that acts as a pet in game. It remains to be seen if this is a mail away offer for a physical figure, or if the bag contains a redeemable code that is entered into the game. The image above seems to imply that the characters have a base, and are a physical product.
The picture above also shows four figures will be offered in this promotion. These figures will be released individually in waves, starting on July 9. Wave two kicks off on July 23, wave three on August 6, and Wave four on August 20.
I contacted Activision for comment, and will update the story when I hear back.
