Rumored Mortal Kombat Film Reboot To Tell The Story Of A Supermarket Clerk

by Kyle Hilliard on Jun 19, 2012 at 07:03 PM

If rumors are to be believed, an upcoming Mortal Kombat live-action reboot could be following the exploits of a supermarket employee who finds out he has super powers.

The rumor comes from website BloodyDisgusting.com, which says that the movie will be directed by Kevin Tancharoen, director of the recent Mortal Kombat: Rebirth short and the Mortal Kombat: Legacy web series, and Glee: The 3D Concert Movie.

Bloody Disgusting is saying, "The live-action reboot will follow a lowly unlucky supermarket employee who discovers that he has out of this world powers and must decide between good and evil, even though the evil side has helped him discover his true potential and who he really is."

I haven't played a lot of Mortal Kombat, admittedly, but I don't remember any of the fighters being supermarket employees. Mostly I remember the fighters of Mortal Kombat being monsters, ninjas, or cyborgs. I think there was a police officer at one time. Maybe it's him. Maybe he's the supermarket employee.
